Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave takes you back to a world of epic battles, deep strategy, and unforgettable characters—discover what makes this new installment a must-play for fans and newcomers alike.
Alright, Fire Emblem diehards, get hype—because, holy hell, the sequel you’ve been waiting for is actually real. No, seriously, pinch me. Nintendo just pulled an absolute stunner during the Direct on September 12, 2025, and—BAM—Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is hitting Switch 2 in 2026. Look, I don’t want to sound dramatic (okay, maybe I do), but I’ve been obsessing over Three Houses for literal years, and now they’re finally letting us back into Fódlan for another round? Inject it straight into my veins.
Three Houses was awesome—don’t get me wrong, I lost MONTHS of my life to those routes—but even after, like, sixteen playthroughs, there’s just SO much they left lying around unsolved. Nintendo, why do you have to play with my heart like that?! There were so many things I wanted wrapped up. So anyway, here’s my running list of weird, messy, or just straight-up WTF mysteries I’m dying for Fortune’s Weave to untangle.
So… What’s the Deal With Demonic Beasts?
I mean, c’mon—those monsters! Three Houses threw these horrifying Demonic Beasts at us, but half the time, they weren’t too clear about where they came from. Sure, some were just regular folks who got a Crest stone and had a real bad day, but then you got people like Marianne (love her, pay her therapy bills) who’s LOW-KEY carrying some beast blood, or Hapi out here summoning monsters because, what, she’s a little bummed out?! And now the new trailer shows a chick called Leda straight-up conjuring demonic beasts in battle. Does this game finally explain the whole mess? Please, for the love of Sothis, YES.
Can We Talk About Those Lore-Defying Nukes?
Okay, so, Three Houses has that “medieval but with anime hair” energy—swords, horses, churchy stuff. But then, out of nowhere, “Those Who Slither In The Dark” start busting out literal laser nukes disguised as “arrows of light.” Uh, how is that fair? Who thought this through? Zelda has better internal logic! The trailer for Fortune’s Weave shows a character pulling a GUN. No lie, a straight-up modern pistol. Are we finally going to learn how the weird future tech fits into everything? Or are we just going to vibe with fireballs and firearms side by side and not even ask? (I kinda hope it’s both.)
WTF Are the Nabateans, Really?
Dragons. Saints. Immortal weirdos chilling in the monastery. The Nabateans were always weirdly mysterious in Three Houses—like, sure, you meet Sothis in your brain (hey, queen), and hear stories about Indech and Macuil, but who are these people, really? Where’d they come from, why are they such big deals, and is turning into a giant dragon just a Tuesday for them? The Fortune’s Weave teaser flashes Sothis (rocking a wild new adult look, by the way), so fingers crossed we finally get some backstory. Also, can we PLEASE see the dragon forms of Saint Cichol and Saint Cethleann? Or, better yet, grown-up Cethleann—let a girl glow up!
So, are crests still a thing, or have they gone full Pokémon?
Remember how, in Three Houses, Crests basically ran the show—like, if you had one, congrats, you’re special; if not, better luck in your next life. Edelgard wanted to tear the whole thing down, and honestly? Same. Now, the Fortune’s Weave trailer is teasing time skips or some kind of future Fódlan—looks like Sothis finally hit her growth spurt. Plus, there’s some mystery dude named Dietrich with a new Crest weapon, but no clues about its Crest. So. Did crests go extinct, or is everyone just walking around with TWO now, causing double migraines? Are there new Hero’s Relics up for grabs? I needed answers like yesterday.
Fire Emblem’s Back, Baby (And Sothis Looks Like She Means Business)
With Fortune’s Weave on the horizon, Nintendo’s basically screaming, “You want more Fódlan? HERE’S MORE FÓDLAN.” The official line is: “The Heroic Games have begun. The newest entry in the Fire Emblem series is set to enter the arena. Players can expect an intertwining story, a cast of new characters, and turn-based tactical combat…” Yeah, alright, but all I care about is Sothis getting top billing and the story giving us some real, juicy lore. The trailer has battles that look wild, and Sothis is right there, so you KNOW it’s about to go down.
Engage? Eh, nice try.
No shade, but Engage was cute—just not Three Houses. It played it a little too safe, IMO. Nostalgia everywhere, but the social stuff was barebones. It was missing that wild magic—the messy drama, the moral quandaries, you know? Fortune’s Weave could totally fix that by diving deep into everything Three Houses left half-finished.
Okay, deep breath. 2026 can’t come soon enough. More drama, more dragons, and maybe—just MAYBE—a few actual answers this time. See you all back in Fódlan. Save me a seat in the monastery dining hall, alright?
